Summer Nature Camps

(Ages 2-15 years)
Nature Camps at Ladew Gardens provide a unique, fun and educational experience for children aged 2 to 15.  Ladew’s beautiful 250-acre property includes formal gardens, a 1500 square foot, native butterfly & caterpillar house, forests, meadows, ponds and streams.  Staffed by adult naturalists, an art instructor and a former school teacher, we provide a low teacher to camper ratio to ensure a safe environment and individualized attention.

ART IN NATURE CAMP
:  Celebrate Water!
Precious, beautiful, life-giving water, in its many forms, is the focus of this year’s art camp. This program, blending art and environmental education will explore watery habitats, cultures and conservation. Together with discovery, experimentation and creativity, students will sharpen art, design, and observation skills. Students will express themselves with a variety of styles, techniques and materials. Ladew's 2017 featured artist Mary Ann Mears, and Artist-in-Residence, painter, Palden Hamilton, will each teach a lesson one afternoon of the camp week. Daily sketching, hikes, and outdoor games will be blended into each day. Strong emphasis will be on nature study. Each child will receive their own art supply kits. We will celebrate the campers’ work during an art show in Ladew’s Barn Gallery on Friday afternoon.
