Spring Storytime in the Gardens

Tuesday, April 1: April Fools & Silly Animals From animals playing tricks on each other to hippos with hiccups, let's join in on the fun as we read about some critters that really know how to make us laugh.  10:30 session is sold out; 12:30 still has openings

Friday, April 18: Bunnies, Rabbits & Hares, Oh My! With spring's arrival, we'll be seeing a lot more of our floppy-eared friends out and about. Join us as we read about rabbits and their fun adventures.   10:30 session is sold out; 12:30 still has openings

Tuesday, May 6: Flower Power Join us in the gardens as we read about and surround ourselves with the beauty and fragrance of spring's blooming beauties.

Wednesday, May 21: Blue Bird Blue Sky The color blue is found all throughout nature from eggs and birds to flowers and the sky. Join us as we read about all things blue.

Tuesday, June 3: Animal Babies From birds to frogs, spring is the perfect time to see babies everywhere. Let's learn all about these cuties that are entering the world for the first time.

Wednesday, June 11: I Wonder What's Under Ever wondered what lives under that rock, log or patch of dirt? Come find out as we learn about the wiggly worms, chipmunks, salamanders, and other critters that make their homes down under.  10:30 session is sold out; 12:30 still has openings



 

Summer Storytime in the Gardens

Tuesday, July 1: Fantastic Fireflies  It’s that magical time of year when it appears that stars are dancing through the air.  Come join us as we read about fireflies – our little “twinkling stars” on Earth.

Wednesday, July 30: Pebbles, Rocks and Sand  Kids love rocks!  They can be sparkly, smooth, colorful and so much more.  Let’s explore the fascinating variety of rocks and stones in our environment and how people and animals use them. 

Tuesday, August 12: A Shell for a Home  Can you imagine getting around all day with a shell on your back?  Join us as we read about some amazing, hard-shelled animals like snails, turtles and clams. 

Wednesday, Aug. 20: Dragons and Damsels  Join us by the pond as we learn about jewel-winged dragonflies and their dainty cousins, the damselflies.

 

 


 

Nature Stories and Crafts 

Storytime at Ladew continues even after the gardens officially close to the public for the year. 
From November through March, join us in Ladew’s Studio for a morning or afternoon of 
interactive nature stories, followed by making a fun, take-home craft.

 


Ages: 2-6 years with an adult

Times: 10:30 – 11:15 am or 12:30 – 1:15 pm

 

 

Please note new non-member prices.

Individual Program Fee: Members $5 per child/adult pair, Non-members $15 per child/adult pair. Additional siblings only $5 each!

 

SERIES DISCOUNTS!

SPRING SERIES: Register for whole Spring Series (6 sessions) for only $20 per member child; $60 per non-member child; $20 per extra sibling.

SUMMER SERIES: Register for the whole Summer Series (4 sessions in July & August) for only $15 per member child; $45 per non-member child; $15 per extra sibling.

Includes admission to the Gardens and Nature Walk for the day. Space is limited. Advance registration and payment is required.
