The Ladew Society, established in 2001, is a growing group of Ladew’s very closest supporters, members and donors who have told us of their decision to include Ladew in their estate plans.
These bequests, both large and small, are very important to Ladew; they express the very special place Ladew holds in these individuals’ hearts in a very practical way, through planned financial support. In return the Ladew Society gives us the opportunity to thank and honor those who have elected to support Ladew through a bequest.
A bequest to Ladew Topiary Gardens is a simple but very effective way of ensuring that your intention to remember Ladew is indeed realized. Bequests can be unrestricted, allowing the Board of Trustees to apply the gift where the need is greatest. A bequest can also be earmarked for a particular project or endowment. If you are considering a gift restricted in this way, please bear in mind that we would appreciated an opportunity to discuss your ideas and the language you plan to use before you finalize the gift.
It is important to give your attorney our full legal name and address. An example of the language you might use is: I bequeath the sum of $.... (or ….% of my residuary estate) to Ladew Topiary Gardens Inc., located at 3535 Jarrettsville Pike, Monkton, MD 21111, for its general fund.
When you join the Ladew Society a special pin will be sent to you.
Please wear it with pride and tell those who ask about its significance.
If you have included Ladew in your estate plan, we would like to include you in the Ladew Society. If you are planning to make a bequest, or would like to learn more about doing so, please contact Emily Emerick, Executive Director, at (410) 557-9570, ext. 212.
