Family Nature Explorers Programs for 2025
Join us at a new learning station in the Gardens, Meadow or Nature Walk each month. Whether we're searching for wildlife, using microscopes, creating a craft, or conducting experiments, we'll have a ton of fun as we discover the wonders of nature.
Ages | For all ages with an adult (3 years & up recommended)
Time | 1:00 – 3:00 pm
(Drop-in anytime and allow at least 20-30 minutes at the learning stations. Then, be directed to continue learning on the property with a self-guided activity.)
Fee | FREE for Members; Non-members are free with paid garden admission.
No registration required; Check in at the Admissions/Check-in Building

See Ladew from a whole new perspective - under the lens of a microscope! Discover parts of nature materials you may never have noticed with just your naked eye.
Saturday, May 17: Nature’s Mommas
Celebrate Mother’s Day as we learn and explore mothers in the wild. There will be games and crafts to enjoy before venturing into the gardens in search of the mothers and babies of Ladew.
Saturday, June 21: Fun with Bubbles
Pop! Float! Fizz! Come learn all about bubbles formed in nature - from bubbles made by animals and bugs for hiding, breathing or floating, to bubbles created in a chemistry experiment.
Saturday, July 26: Pond Search
Our ponds are jumping with lots of life. Come along as we scoop the garden ponds in search of tadpoles, dragonfly babies and more.
Saturday, August 9: Cool Camo
Look closely, or you’ll miss it! Join us as we search for the critters that utilize camouflaging techniques to blend into their habitat.
Saturday, September 27: Backyard Birding 101
Soar on over to Ladew as we have fun with birding for beginners. We’ll have several stations set up, at or near the Nature Walk bird blind - practice our identification skills, make a craft and learn cool bird facts.
