Paula Reynolds 2024

Amateur painter and sculptor Harvey Ladew had a keen appreciation of art in many forms — painting, traditional sculpture, and of course, the art of topiary.
Over the years, Ladew has welcomed local, national and internationally renowned artists to the Gardens to exhibit and sell their work.

These artists include Sam Robinson, Michael and Joanne Bare, Gavin Brooks, Henry Koehler, Meg Page, Matthew Harris, Mary Ann Mears, and Palden Hamilton, among others.

This year we welcome photographer Paula Reynolds and Sculptor Walter T. Matia

Paula will photograph Ladew throughout the
2024 and 2025 seasons, which will culminate in an
upcoming Art Show and Sale.

Paula Reynolds has been a Fine Art photographer for over 20 years, working in series, most notably, Ocean and Landscape documentation. A 1976 graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art, she received a BFA in Printmaking.

Paula's pursuit of garden and landscape documentation began in 2012 on a neighboring farm in Maryland's Green Spring Valley. With fields, meadows, woods, and the meandering Jones Falls dissecting the property, inspiring views abound. Documenting seasonal changes, with a preference for early morning light, Paula's images capture mist-filled mornings and the dynamic interplay between ground, trees, light, and various objects in the landscape.

Paula's photographs have been shown in several East Coast galleries and exhibitions and are included in collections both public and private in the US and internationally. A selection of images from her VisualDiaries may be viewed on Instagram at: prfotofish
